Global Financial Literacy Excellence Center
The Global Financial Literacy Excellence Center (GFLEC) is dedicated to developing and testing innovative educational programs to improve financial literacy and financial decision-making. Housed within the School of Business at The George Washington University (GW) in Washington, D.C., GFLEC is located in the heart of the nation’s capital. The Center’s proximity to downtown Washington, D.C. is one of its greatest assets. At its most fundamental level, its unique location places it next door to the center of America’s decision-making processes and to the headquarters of many economic institutions, such as the Federal Reserve, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, IMF, World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, White House, and US Treasury. GFLEC is reflective of expertise not only in financial literacy, but also in the translational power of academic research to inform change on the macro-level, including influencing policy and changing practitioner practices.
